Shirls Hall, MSW, lisw-s

Shirls uses principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), art and play therapy, as well as Solution Focused Therapy to support the healing of individuals, couples, and families. She is passionate about working with partnered or married couples. She is a LGBTQIA+ affirming and anti-oppression informed practitioner. Her clients come from all walks of life and life’s circumstances - preschool through the golden years.

Shirls also teaches anger management, stress management, and communication skills through individual or group therapy. Her work is creative, engaging and effective, based on research of best practices and over fifteen years of clinical experience. Shirls is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) by the State of Ohio.

Shirls is extremely competent in her knowledge and therapeutic skills, and she cares deeply about her clients. They in turn seem to respond to her in kind.

Tiffany Chouteau, MS, lpcc-s

Tiffany Chouteau is a licensed professional clinical counselor with a supervisor designation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Wittenberg University and her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wright State University. She has years of experience working with families, children, adolescents, adults, and LGBQT youth and families with various issues such as trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, school adjustment, special education, and behavioral concerns. Tiffany has worked in various settings including school based programs, inpatient adult programs, youth partial hospitalization, outpatient, and outpatient brief therapy.

Her counseling approach is to work collaboratively with clients and their support systems to achieve client-directed goals. Tiffany strives to provide a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment, with encouragement during the therapy process. Her therapeutic approach is to provide therapy that is genuine, straight forward and compassionate to all clients to establish trust and rapport. Tiffany believes the key of successful therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship and that spending adequate time getting to know her client to build trust and feelings of acceptance are a key priority. Tiffany’s therapeutic framework is a combination of trauma informed, strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, play therapy, solution-focused brief therapy and motivational interviewing techniques based on the needs of the client. 


Erin Handler, MS, bcba, coba

Erin McKinstry Handler is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who specializes in seeking positive behavioral outcomes for children, adolescents, and their families.  Erin offers a unique set of services for Heart to Heart clients that includes one-on-one counseling services and group classes for individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder and ADD/ADHD. In addition, Erin provides individualized therapy sessions to anyone seeking to develop constructive changes to challenging behaviors in their life.  She also provides training seminars on specialized topics including: “Navigating & advocating for your special needs child in the school setting (IEP’s/504’s/ARD’s)”; “Helping siblings of children with special needs” - and more! 

Erin has been providing treatment to individuals with autism and related disorders of all abilities for over 5 years, but her personal experience with behavior therapy began almost 10 years ago, when her son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three.  Not long after, Erin begin to see the amazing changes made possible through applied behavior analysis and began her own journey to become a behavior therapist. Erin holds graduate degrees in engineering and applied behavioral analysis (Boston University, 2003; University of North Texas 2013), and is Licensed by the state of Ohio and nationally (COBA/BCBA).  Her personal interests include enjoying the outdoors with her two children, music, and travel.

Christine O'Dell, MS, lpcc

Christine O’Dell works with children through adults specializing in an array of mental health concerns.  Christine uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational techniques and Strengths Based approaches to help clients achieve outcomes. 

Christine spent 13 years working with the juvenile justice system working with teens involved in the court system and providing court ordered assessments and treatment.  Christine has spent the last 3 years working with children, teens and adults in private practice.  Christine has extensive experience in dealing with behavioral concerns, oppositional behaviors, conduct issues, anger management, sexual abuse, anxiety concerns, relationship issues and depressive issues. 

Christine is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of Ohio and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services from Wright State University and a Master of Science degree in Business and Industrial Management Counseling and a second Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University as well.  


Taylor koehler, MA, lpc

Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Dayton and her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. She uses principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Strength-Based Therapy to help her clients work towards achieving their goals.

She has worked with children and adults of all ages who have gone through different life experiences. She has helped those who have experienced trauma, ADHD, stress, anxiety, and adjusted to life’s many changes such as a divorce, changing jobs, and moving schools or locations. She strives to create a safe, trusting, and collaborative environment for those she works with. Outside of her passion of working with her clients, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, traveling, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.


Lauren manning, BA

Lauren is the Office Administrator for Heart to Heart Counseling. She has earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wright State University and has continued on into their Masters program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her goal is to attain her certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor and then work to achieve a Doctoral degree in Psychology.

Being both driven and mindful, Lauren has nine years of experience as an office administrator and seven years of experience working with children ranging from infancy to adolescence in an educational capacity. Adaptable to challenging situations, she is passionate about helping those that are working through mental health issues and the hardships faced in life. Lauren has a proven ability to connect providers with clients and maintains continued support to both, ensuring a positive therapeutic working alliance.
